travel // 24 hours in san francisco, part 4

Friday, March 28, 2014

our last day in san francisco was a bit of a dreary one - rainy and overcast and chilly.  but, that didn't stop us from venturing out and hitting up brunch in the north beach neighborhood (aka, little italy). we headed to mama's, a popular breakfast spot whose line can be upwards of 3 hours on the weekend!  we heard great things about the food and decided to brave the line (and weather!) to see just how great it was.

man, the wait was worth it! this place was so cute and cozy.  i felt like i was in a mom & pop breakfast joint in the middle of the country, not smack dab in the middle of sf!  breakfast was delicious - i'm talking like, the best chorizo scramble i have had this side of the mexican border!  plus, their fresh squeezed oj (in my mimosa, ha!) didn't disappoint either.

after breakfast, we walked back to our hotel the long way so we could swing by the bottom of lombard street and take in some sights we missed the day before before we got on the road to head home.  although it was a short trip, it was definitely worth it.  we had such a great time enjoying the city together and playing tourists for the weekend.
