a couple of weeks ago my parents and i ventured out to palm springs for the weekend. we have a house in palm desert, just a short 15 minute drive from down town palm springs, and since i had the whole weekend off (three days in a row!! there is a god!) we decided to take advantage of it. we were weary about the heat, the weather man said it was in the 100's! - and boy he did not lie. it was hot. like 100 degrees at 10 pm hot. and i can be a big baby when it's hot so it's safe to say i was not looking forward to spending the whole weekend in that kind of weather.
but, even with the nasty heat and constant shweatiness, we had a fantastic time. we golfed, played pool, went to the movies, watched the olympics and went to my cousins wedding. it was so nice to be able to spend a whole weekend with my parents without crazy work schedules and every day life stress. family time is few and far between these days, but when we get it, it's pretty dang amazing.
