travel // solvang danish village

Thursday, January 19, 2012

on day 2 of our girl's weekend, we packed up the car, picked up some smoothies at blenders (amazing!) and headed up to solvang for some danish loving.  solvang is this cute little danish town about 45 minutes north of santa barbara.  i think it's safe to say it's one of my favorite places in california.  it's like you have been transported straight to denmark.  we grabbed some authentic danish pastries and coffee before exploring the town.

while we were there it was a must that we get some aebleskivers (pronounced able - skeever).  it's one of my favorite foods ever.  they are basically fluffy pancake balls served with warm jam and powdered sugar.  they are a traditional danish dish and are so amazing.

after exploring solvang, we got on the road to head home.  we stopped for lunch at panino in montecito per kai's recommendation and it did not disappoint.  after some fun pictures on the beach we had to say goodbye to santa barbara and started our journey back.

this weekend was one for the books.  i can't express how much fun i had with these girls.  im so blessed to have met olivia and tammy through blogging and to have known kai for almost 6 years and be able to share our love for blogging together.  it's amazing how something like blogging can bring people from all over together to form such wonderful bonds of friendships.  you girls are the best - nothing but love for you all.
